You thought Slush wouldn’t be different this year

Welcome back to the North. We have a new approach for both our on-stage and off-stage program.

Slush, the world's leading startup event, welcomes you back to the North with a new approach for both on-stage and off-stage program.

What you’ll often find in tech events is an impressive lineup of amazingly accomplished and very well-known figures; founders of billion-dollar companies, the most influential CEOs, top brass journalists, and the occasional head of state. What is a thousand times harder than identifying the impressive executives is figuring out who their best kept secrets are and what’s the practice they preach.

Fear not, we’ve got you covered. What are the most successful user retention tactics Casey Winters, who led growth at Pinterest among many other companies, has found? What did Julia Grace do to build her engineering teams at Slack during intense company growth? Thomas Walle managed to build Unacast on two continents; what tradeoffs did he have to make? Christian Meermann  turned Zalandointo a performance marketing powerhouse – where did he start? Alice Newton-Rex, first product manager of WorldRemit, scaled their product to 140 countries while the company was growing from dozens to hundreds of employees. How? Few already know. You will.

Because 20,000 tech heads are not coming to get inspired

In addition to that, we’ve curated a list of some of the best practical advice for startups in our newly launched Resource Bank, which we’ll continue iterating on based on feedback from you.

To continue on this concrete road of content at our event, we’re teaming up with our speakers again and amping our efforts on speed mentoring and curated roundtable discussions, both of which have proven immensely popular. They’re the way to clock in one-on-one time with our biggest names. Speaking of taking advice, early this year, a founder suggested we build a stage where only startups present product demos. So the Showcase Studio was born, with 80 companies presenting their products over the two days. This, and everything else you can expect to see, are thanks to the proactive feedback of our attending founders and other operators.

Hence, don’t come to Slush for inspiration and networking. Come if your time is best used by learning from these people rather than by staying home, focusing on working on your product.

If you do decide to make the trip up north this year, we’re more than happy to wish you welcome. As usual, the setting for all this will be dark and a bit hazy, but let me tell you something: it works for us as no one wants to leave the event.

I’ll leave you to it with three numbers: Slush is on Dec 4-5

Welcome!
