About us:

Pulpix (Y-Combinator) develops a cutting edge in-video recommendation technology. We work with premium media companies such as GQ Magazine, IGN, Au Féminin, L’Equipe, Le Monde, and help them significantly increase video views.

We offer rich video features that change the way people watch videos online: picture-in-picture, next content prediction, video-article recommendation, etc.

Our mission is to bring the best video experience to all publishers and apps. We believe that videos should branch out to other content, the way articles do through links.

About The job:

We are looking for an experienced machine learning engineer to join our team. You will play an active role in designing our core technology. And get to play with a ton of data!

Things you will be proud of:

- product: the first time-aware in-video recommendation engine
- tech: designing and architecting a large scale machine learning infrastructure.
- example of projects: video classification, speech recognition, language detection, keyword/entity extraction

Required Skills

- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering / machine learning position

- Strong maths, data science and statistics background

- Demonstrated experience designing efficient and reliable machine learning algorithms, in particular collaborative filtering

- Demonstrated experience deploying them at scale

- Experience with big data /cluster computing (Spark, Mllib, Cassandra, Hadoop, etc.)

- Proficient in 1 of the following languages: C++, Java, Scala or Python

- PhD/Masters/Engineering degree

Optional Skills:

- Deep Learning experience (Theano, Torch or Tensorflow)

- Experience with AWS

- Django / SQL
